January in Northbridge is the bomb - Fringe, warm weather and some of the best food in the state.
And five minutes or less from most Northbridge Fringe venues is one of our absolute faves - No Mafia.
The Blonde and I have been enjoying the brilliant modern Italian food here, since the current owner was serving us as a waiter, for years.
And after a fab Fringe show with a couple of friends we wandered into an empty No Mafia. The best place to sit here is on the street facing benches.
You see it all go past while you blow back a brilliant Italian white.
The menu, whilst counting no pasta dishes, is authentic Italian cuisine with a modern Australian twist - think charred broccoli with chilli, burrata with grilled peaches, and, our new favourite, Sicilian meatballs on polenta and sugo.
Superb foursome food! And the wine list really tops off a great menu - Sicilian Grillo, Italian Greco and Fiano and a host of fab domestics.
No Mafia is an inner-city church of brilliant but simple Italian cuisine, go worship there - we do frequently.
